Before deciding whether band coaching is right for you and your group, ask yourself these eight questions:

2.)Is the entire band in agreement and focused on the goals and committed to accomplishing them?
3.)Are the goals of the band equally important to each member?
4.)Does each member spend time improving his/her individual skills in order to maximize band practices as a group?
5.)Is each member committed to the practice schedule?
6.)Does each member get along in a professional as well as personal manner?
7.)Does the band have an open relationship which encourages dialogue about problematic issues?
8.)Does your band have clear and reasonable goals written down in a step-by-step action plan?
If the answer to all of the above is yes, then more than likely you will be a star in no time. Stick with your plan and execute. You can do it! Coaching sessions will be held regularly via conference phone, or in person if preferred and geographically possible. Your coach will facilitate sessions that encourage open dialogue addressing the issues hindering progress, while using constructive criticism without flared tempers and frustration. The combined vision of the band will be clarified as well as the individual commitment levels of each member. As a group, your band and your coach will create and write a step-by-step plan covering actions to be taken over the next 6 months by your band collectively and individually. Your coach will then hold the band and members individually accountable for promises made to take action.
